Retirement planning inquiries remain high at unbiased.co.uk

Unbiased.co.uk’s latest Advice Drivers report shows that personal retirement planning continues to be the number-one advice driver (41%) for people seeking independent financial advice in April.

Equity release inquiries remained almost flat with February figures, accounting for 5% of total inquiries, ranking in ninth place.

Meanwhile, the company’s Mortgage Advice Drivers report ranked equity release in seventh place with 6% of inquiries. This was flat with February levels.

Karen Barrett, chief executive of unbiased.co.uk, comments: “The new tax year brought a number of changes for consumers’ personal finances and planning for the future.

“Not least within the pension space - the basic state pension has increased; pension drawdown arrangements have changed; the annual allowance for tax-free pensions saving was reduced - it is not surprising to see that retirement planning remains in demand when it comes to consumers seeking professional financial advice.”
