Drop in equity release inquiries at unbiased.co.uk

Unbiased.co.uk’s latest Advice Drivers report shows that personal retirement planning continues to be the number one advice driver (41%) for people seeking independent financial advice in February.

Equity release inquiries remained flat with 2010 figures, accounting for 4% of total inquiries, ranking in ninth place.

Meanwhile, the company’s Mortgage Advice Drivers report ranked equity release in seventh place with 6% of inquiries. This was down from 11% in December.

According to the company, saving for the future is a hot topic at the moment, and although media reports claim very few people are saving at the moment, the two reports suggest people are starting to think more seriously about putting money aside for later in life.
